If you are reasonably fit, and would like to join us, all you need is a pair of walking boots, some good waterproofs and a packed lunch!
Welcome to the 23/24 U3A year. The hill walks will be on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, except for December when there is no walk.
The next walk will be on Wednesday 15th November – around 6-7 miles from the verge parking just before the Carey Burn Bridge (GR NT 975250) in the Harthope Valley. Travel to Wooler and then take minor roads to the Harthope Valley.
Meet at the bottom of the steps up to the Infirmary in the Castlegate car park at 9.10am for car share, or 10.00am at the walk start point.
Dogs: well-behaved dogs on leads or under close control welcome.
Walk leader: Elaine Patterson
Further details: The walk will generally be on good tracks, taking in Broadstruther and if the conditions allow Cold Law. Bering in mind the recent rain, it is expected that sections, especially on Cold Law, will be wet and boggy. Suitable walking boots should be worn, and walkers are advised to bring appropriate clothing and other items for the conditions anticipated in November. Cafe stop in Wooler afterwards.
Can you let me know nearer the time if you will be coming, whether meeting at Castlegate or walk start point, and if you can provide or require a lift?
